'RHOBH' Kim Richards arrested after drunken clash

Recovering alcoholic Kim Richards of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was arrested Thursday at the Beverly Hills Hotel after a drunken clash with hotel security and cops, according to police.

Richards was at a hotel restaurant early Thursday but was asked to leave because she was drunk, unruly and "causing a disturbance," according to Beverly Hills Police Lt. Lincoln Hoshino in a press statement.

Hotel security tried to get her to leave, she went into a bathroom instead and refused to come out. Police were called and arrested her in the bathroom about 2 am.

"Ms. Richards was displaying symptoms of alcohol intoxication, including slurred speech and belligerent insolent behavior, cursing at the officers and passively resisted arrest," the police statement said. "After being transported to the station for booking, Richards kicked one of the officers in the leg; however the officer was not injured."

She was released about 10:30 am after she was issued a citation charging her with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer and battery on a police officer. She is due to appear in court on June 10.

Richards, 50, is a particular source of drama on the non-stop-drama of RHOBH, because of multiple blowups and because she's supposed to be kicking her substance abuse habit. She's been in rehab, and has insisted she's recovering without a struggle.

But that was called into question after a recent reunion special, when she admitted that she had taken a pain pill, which led to erratic behavior. She said it was an accident.
