Person wounded after shooting in west Charlotte

Medic said the patient had life-threatening injuries.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A shooting in a west Charlotte neighborhood has sent one person to the hospital Saturday night.

Medic confirmed it happened around 10 p.m. along Rocklake Drive, in a neighborhood north of I-85. The patient was taken to a hospital and faced life-threatening injuries.

So far, initial details about what may have happened have not been shared by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. WCNC Charlotte has sent a team to gather information and video.

The shooting in west Charlotte marked the second one of the day in the area, and the third one overall on Saturday. The earlier scene in the western part of the city unfolded early in the morning on Crisman Street. Later in the morning, another shooting happened along Milton Road in east Charlotte.
