CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was hurt while evacuating a plane at Charlotte Douglas International Airport late Wednesday night, according to Medic.
Frontier Airlines Flight 1759 from Charlotte to Orlando was in the boarding process when a "strong odor was detected" on the plane. As a precaution, the flight was evacuated by both the jet bridge and the evacuation slides, according to the airline.
Medic said the person was taken from the airport to be treated for minor injuries after falling, though further details about the person's injury are not publicly known.
The airline said all passengers would be assisted with accommodations for other flights. There were 226 passengers set for the originally scheduled flight.
The initial reports show there wasn't any visible smoke or fire, Frontier Airlines said.
The incident comes during a busy travel week, as many people fly out of Charlotte for spring break.
