Another unseasonably warm day for the Carolinas

Rain and storm chance this weekend

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Today

Look for more clouds than sunshine with afternoon temperatures in the mid 80s. There's a slight chance for a stray storm during the afternoon and evening hours. Mostly cloudy overnight with a chance of showers.  Lows will be in the mid 60s.

This Weekend

Rain and thunderstorms are likely both Saturday and Sunday.

Lightning will be the main threat for all the outdoor events over the weekend. The best chance for thunder and lightning comes up mid afternoon into the evening on Saturday with highs in the upper 70s. Scattered lightning is possible Sunday with highs in the low 80s.

Stay weather aware if you plan to be outside, especially in the afternoons and evenings. A great tool to have is the WCNC Charlotte app.
