Summer-like temperatures this week

Drying out this week along with much warmer temperatures.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

This Evening

Becoming mostly clear this evening after an overcast afternoon. No weather-related delays today as NASCAR drivers start their engines for the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway at 8 p.m.

Overnight, expect mostly clear skies as we move into Monday morning. Temperatures will hover near 60 along with areas of patchy fog.

This Week

After unrelenting rainfall and numerous reports of flash flooding over the weekend, expect mainly dry conditions for the week. This change comes as high pressure resides over the region and provides us with drier setup.

By midweek, watch for those isolated pop-up shower or storm chances induced by the heating of the day.  Otherwise, our next best chance for measurable rain is holding off until later in the week. The warmest days of the week are lining up for Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the mid/upper 80s. Rain chances remain isolated for Memorial Day weekend.

Wet Start to May

For the first two-and-a-half weeks of the month, it's been one of the top 3 wettest starts on record with almost seven inches of rain! We'll get a few dry days in this week with more rain potential on the way before the month is over.
