CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Today
Temperatures will be in the low 80s during the afternoon. Cloud cover will be much more abundant than Monday's. There's a slight chance of showers and a general thunderstorm potential starting after 2 p.m. for the entire area, but mainly late afternoon to early evening for around Charlotte. Look for a slight chance of showers overnight, with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Wednesday
The warm-up continues across the area, with highs in the mid-80s. There's a very slight chance of a few stray showers and a thunderstorm. Wednesday night will be mostly clear, with lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Thursday
Skies will be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. A few areas east and southeast of Charlotte will hit the 90-degree mark. Overnight, temperatures will fall into the low 60s.
Friday
Look for a mix of clouds and sunshine with highs reaching the mid-80s. There's the chance of a few evening showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures overnight will fall into the low to mid 60s.
Weekend
Rain chances are on the rise by Saturday and Sunday. Highs will be in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees each day, with storms becoming scattered during the afternoon and into the evening each day. A lot can still change, but the likely storm chance on Saturday is not welcome news for the big concert and Strawberry Festival.

Tree pollen is the main cause of high pollen levels for late April before these numbers begin to decrease by mid-May.
