UPDATE: Police have identified another vehicle of interest for this case. The vehicle is a black, dually quad-cab pickup truck and has either a damaged or missing fog light on the front, passenger’s side of the vehicle. This truck has a chrome bumper and lights on the side-view mirrors; however, there are no clearance lights on the roof. Photos of the actual vehicle of interest are below.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Detectives are searching for a suspect after a deadly hit and run on Lawyers Road Friday night.
CMPD was called to the 8800 block of Lawyers Road around 10 p.m. and located a victim in the roadway who had been struck by a vehicle.
The victim, 34-year-old Eric Elsea was pronounced dead on the scene by Medic.
Detectives are searching for a white mid 2000s Ford F-350 dually quad cab with a tool box in the bed that may have been involved in the collision.
Detectives are working to determine if speed was a factor in the crash. Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor for the pedestrian according to police.
