One-on-one with Bethenny Frankel in Charlotte

The former cast member of "The Real Housewives of New York City" was in Charlotte Monday for her latest business venture.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — You probably know Bethenny Frankel from her time on "The Real Housewives of New York City" and her Skinnygirl brand that's made her a whole lot of money.

The 47-year-old was in Charlotte Monday for her latest business venture, and she sat down with NBC Charlotte for a one-on-one interview.

Frankel isn’t shy; in fact, she’s famous for that.

"I'm not afraid to speak my mind."

Women love her newly launched Skinnygirl jeans. Already sold out in some stores, the line just arrived at Belk's SouthPark store in Charlotte.

"They're classic with an edge, but they're comfortable."

Kind of like Frankel herself. She said women like her because they can relate to her, despite, or maybe because of, her success.

"If I can do it so can they," said Frankel. "I think also that women like that I didn’t get anything for free. I work for it."

Lately, one of the most popular housewives in the franchise has been using what she's got for good.

Frankel said she was moved to help after the hurricane in Puerto Rico and continued those efforts coming to North Carolina when Florence hit a few weeks ago.

"Hurricane relief has really spoken to me because it's so dire, so immediate," Frankel said. "I’m able to help, rally troops, so now this is my thing.”
