Early voting for midterm elections underway in North Carolina

There are 19 early voting locations in Mecklenburg County. Most are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the week with varying hours on the weekend.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In North Carolina, early voting for the upcoming mid-term election began on Wednesday, October 17, and will end Saturday, November 3.

There are 19 early voting locations in Mecklenburg County. Most are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the week with varying hours on the weekend. You can take a look at your provisional ballot before you head out.

If you live outside Mecklenburg County, you may find one-stop voting sites here. You may also apply to vote absentee in North Carolina.

In South Carolina, absentee voting is already underway, but you have to meet certain qualifications. You may apply to vote absentee at your county elections office as well as by phone, mail, email, or fax.

Once you get your ballot, it must be returned to your county voter registration office no later than 7:00 p.m. on November 6.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 6. All polling locations in North Carolina will be open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Before you go, you should verify you're registered at the correct address.

Polling hours for South Carolina are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6. You may find your precinct here. You will need a photo ID to vote in the Palmetto State. Click here for a list of acceptable identification cards.

A photo ID is not required in the upcoming general election in North Carolina.
