Victim identified in deadly east Charlotte fire

The flames broke out around 7 p.m. at 11616 Calgary Drive.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The victim of a deadly house fire in east Charlotte Saturday has been identified.

The flames broke out around 7 p.m. at 11616 Calgary Drive. It took more than twenty firefighters to get the fire under control in about twenty minutes. The Charlotte Fire Department Investigating Task Force also reported to the scene.

According to a Charlotte Mecklenburg Police incident report, 67-year-old William Vincent McClure died in the fire.

"One caller stating that there is an older female that's outside possibly that lives there. They can't confirm this right now. One caller says there might be an elderly male still in the residence," an official reported on Broadcastify.

Damage to the property was estimated to be $100,000.
