CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Each week, NBC Charlotte combs through health department inspection reports to look at what’s happening in the kitchens of the places you like to eat.

This week, some popular places landed on the Restaurant Report Card, including a hot spot in SouthPark as well as a college cafeteria.

Treehouse Whiskey and Fork at 4423 Sharon Rd. got a 90.5, a low A. The report said there was no certified food protection manager, a repeat violation.

The pasta and milk weren't date marked, and both were tossed out. The ceviche and the wings were four days old; they were tossed out, too.

At Pho Plus at 128 Brevard, some of the sliced raw beef was being stored with cooked pork and meatballs that were ready to eat.

Summer rolls and sprouts were above 45 degrees, holding at room temperature. Several employees weren’t wearing hats or hair nets while preparing food. Their grade was an 87.5, a B.

The lowest grade of the week goes to the cafeteria at Johnson C. Smith University, where an employee wasn’t washing hands long enough.

Two pans of chili, macaroni pie, pinto beans and some rice didn’t cool fast enough; they had to be tossed out. Two live roaches were also seen in the kitchen area, and fruit flies were hovering by the trash bin. Their grade was an 84, a B.
