Monday was D-Day — divorce day — for yet another celebrity couple: Rock stars Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are splitting after 13 years of marriage.

The couple filed divorce papers in Los Angeles Superiror Court, Stefani first, then Rossdale, said court spokeswoman Mary Hearn, according to The Associated Press.

Stefani cited irreconcilable differences for the breakup and both are seeking joint custody of their three children.

No date of separation was listed in the filings.

The couple issued a statement to various celebrity publications, including People.

"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment. To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time."

Stefani is a judge on NBC's The Voice and is the frontwoman for the band No Doubt.

British-born Rossdale is the frontman for the band Bush.

The pair was married in September 2002 and had their first child together in 2006. Kingston is 9, Zuma is 6, and the youngest son is 1-year-old Apollo.

The couple, one of rock's most famous, was the third celebrity duo with marriage woes reported on Monday.

Country superstar Reba McEntire and her husband of 26 years, Narvel Blackstock, announced they were separating on her website. They said their marriage is over but they did not say whether and when they would file for divorce.

Earlier, Hollywood couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, who are regularly dogged by divorce rumors, had to contend with another round of the same, forcing Smith to declare emphatically on his Facebook page that they are not splitting, with a liberal use of all caps and exclamation points to convey his annoyance with the gossip  "foolishness." .
